#1: Hole In The Ground
All Over Me is responsible for exposing me to both this song and Mary Timony. I first saw it back in 1998, and it’s remained a firm favourite of mine. There’s a multitude of reasons why, but in a nutshell, I guess it just reached me at the right time in my life. I was craving something I had no idea existed. And there it was on late night TV. Her music has always meant so much to me, even from the moment I first heard this song in that brief scene. And I’m so glad I’ve had the opportunity to witness her play live. To see her roll around on the floor, guitar fizzing and buzzing behind her head. I waited thirteen years to see that, and I would quite happily do the same again. Mary, please don’t ever stop.
